Having a Coke with You

I'm not kind of person who loves poetry.
But when I heard this poem for the first time, I find it sounds very beautiful.

Having a Coke with You by Frank O'Hara

Having a coke with you is even more fun than going to San Sebastian,Irun, Hendaye, Biarrity, Bayyone or being sick to my stomach
On the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona
Partly because in you orange shirt you look like a better happier St. Sebastian
Partly because of my love for you,
Partly because of your love for yogurt
Partly because of your flourescent orange tulips around the birches
Partly because of the secrecy of our smiles
Take on before people and statuary
It is hard to believe when I'm with you
That there can be anything as still
As solemn as unpleasantly definitive
As statuary when right in front of it

W.A.R

War, three letters that can doom the world. War has been written in the history of human race, since the ancient year to the dark age, even in the modern day.

Don't know what we, human, seek in the war and hates. One thing for sure, there is never a victory in a war. No one and no nation ever won a war. Some do survive, but at all cost.

More people die and suffer in the war. Unfortunately, the most die are innocent people, those who are so unfortunate and happen to be caught up in the wrath of evil bands consumed by greed and burned in hatred. They neither even know what started the war nor they know what the war is fighting for. These innocent people always suffer the most in the war.

For centuries, human has developed weapon to defend themselves, their land, their race, and their territory. It began from as simple as a spear, to gun, to warhead, and finally nuclear weapon. All are developed in the name of self defense, to protect their people and to defend their nation from every threat.

Is weapon the only way to guarantee the safety and peace of our home country?

Why can't we defend our nation with trust, respect, tolerance, kindness, care and love? We will not need any kind of weaponry if everyone of us have them all.

Hate, violence, and and vengeance never bring peace. They only promise destruction, lost, and sorrow.

Peace.

The Frog's Race

I was searching for a story for my English class, and I found this story. It is a short simple story. However, I found this story very inspiring. So, keep reading if you want to know why.

The Frog's Race
By Dulce Rodrigues

One day, a group of frogs decided to make a race and get to the top of a high tower.

A lot of people came to see them and gave them their support, but the race had just begun and everybody was already saying that the frogs would not get there.
"It doesn't make sense going on! You'll never reach the top of the tower!"

Little by little, the frogs felt disappointed and discouraged, except for one of them that continued running. And everybody cried out, "Give up! Give up! You'll never get to the top!" Listening repeatedly to these negative words led the frogs to abandoned the race after all, except for the one frog that, despite what people were saying, and though alone and with great pain, continued to run and finally reached the top.

Deeply astonished, the other frogs wanted to know how she had managed to do it. They came to her and asked her what her secret was.

And it was then they found out that ... she was deaf!

Many times we heard people keep telling how impossible the things we are doing or the dreams we have. We have to be that one deaf frog. Keep going despite of people's negative words and discouragement. Don't let others tell you what you cannot do. Proof them wrong. You can be what you always dream to be.

What Do You Choose?

Life is a choice:
Wake up, fight for your life, embrace the challenge, take the risks, and gain the success.
Or
Stay in the comfort zone, hide under the darkness of corrupt system, avoid every risks and just follow the line, and end up as a loser.

Heart or Brain?

This is the conversation between the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman. They embarked on a journey to find one thing they want the most in the world.

The scarecrow said, "Brains are the only thing worth having in this world, no matter whether one is a crow or a man ... I shall ask for brains instead of heart, for a fool would not know what to do with a heart if he had one."

Then the Tin Woodman said, "I shall take the heart, for brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world."

- The Wonderful Wizard of Oz -

So, what about you? Which do you think is worth more, brain or heart?

Quote 03

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

Quote 01

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the thing that you didn't do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover."
