Fantasy Quotes

I love reading. And my favorite is fantasy story. Growing up apparently doesn't dispel my liking for the world of imagination. Magic, whimsical creatures, supernatural power, extraordinary human, and  mesmerizing lands always fascinate me. The author of fantasy story always amaze me because they are able to create such creative and imaginative world. Something we will never encounter in the real world, but they have them in their head.

Apart from the amazing world I can find in the fantasy stories, I often find beautiful words in them. Words which are narrated by the author or said by the characters that make me reread and try to absorb every line. The words that cause me to contemplate the meaning beyond them and to try to remember them by heart.

Below are some quotes I found from the fantasy stories I've read. Actually, there are more that I've read, but I didn't have any intention to record them by then. Now, I start to collect them.

"Heroes aren't always the ones who win. They are ones who lose, sometimes. But they keep fighting, they keep coming back. They don't give up. That's what makes them heroes."
- Cassandra Clare, City of Heavenly Fire

"As long as she is alive and well and happy in this world, I will find a way to be happy as well, even if it is not beside her."
- Cassandra Clare, City of Heavenly Fire

"No matter how perfect the day is, it always has to end."
- Stephenie Meyer, Twilight

"... Those who want power and get it live in terror of losing it. That's why we have to give the power to those who who not want it."
- Veronica Roth, Divergent

Finally, it's up to you how you will interpret those quotes in your life.

A Lesson from Playing Game

Some people said that game is a waste of time. The only benefit we can get from a game is to entertain ourselves, to escape from the boredom and stressful work. Still, it never satisfies the players. The higher level we reach, the more we want to play. Some people are even addicted to the game. But that day, I learned something from a game I was playing. It was determination. When I was playing, suddenly, Bingo! I realized what that word means, not to lose hope and never give up trying because we never know when that chance will come.

That afternoon, I felt so bored. I'd been sunk under tons of writing that I had to check. I'd been doing it all day. So, I decided to take a break. I tried to take a nap, closing my eyes for a few minutes might have helped to refresh, but I couldn't fall asleep. Then, I took the tab. I had no idea what I would do with that. I decided to play this one game. I quit playing it like months ago. I stopped playing because I stuck on level 30. I had been playing for weeks, but showed no improvement. No matter how I tried, I never completed the level. Until I started thinking that it was ridiculous. I didn't stand a chance to complete that level. So, I quit playing.

Suddenly that afternoon, I felt like resuming the game. So, I began playing. First try, I failed. Then second and third, I still failed. When I tried for the fourth time, aha! I did it. I completed the level. The game that I had been neglected for months because I gave up was, eventually, completed. I was surprised myself. That afternoon, I reached the next 5 levels.

In that very moment, a bell inside my head rang. So, it was true. We can't quit. We can't stop trying because we never know on which attempt it will work, and because we never know when the chance will come. What if it will work on the 97th try, but we quit after we try for 92 times. Of course we don't make it because we stop on the wrong time, before the time.

In that very moment, I understand why we shouldn't give up hope and why we shouldn't quit trying, because we don't know when it will work until it works. And I learned that from the game.

I don't write this to promote that you have to spend your time playing game. What I am trying to say is that inspiration can come anytime, anywhere, if your spare a time to think about life.
